Greg Gutfeld Puts Hollywood on Notice, Beats Stephen Colbert and Scores Highest-Rated Week Ever


Fox News star Greg Gutfeld put Hollywood on notice and beat CBS’ top-ranked Stephen Colbert in the ratings last week.

Gutfeld regularly beats his other late-night competitors, Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel, but this is only the third time he has knocked Colbert out of the top spot.

Gutfeld also scored his highest-rated week EVER while defying the critics and bringing in a diverse audience. The show increased viewership in its time slot for Fox News by 43% for total viewers and 17% in the key 24-54 age demographic.

Gutfeld beat Colbert for the week of August 8th through the 12th. He brought in an average of 2.35 million total viewers and 397,000 viewers in the key 25-54 age demo.

Colbert averaged 2.14 million total viewers and 373,000 in the key demo Fallon came in third with 1.32 million total viewers and 372,000 in the key demo.

Kimmel brought up the rear with 1.08 million total viewers and 264,000 in the key demo.

According to Mediaite:

“Nielsen MRI Fusion data from June 2022 found that the show has more Democrats and Independents tuning in than any program on CNN.

“Additionally, Nielsen media research noted that Gutfeld’s audience has the highest median income in total viewers and the demo among all late-night programs – broadcast and cable.

Fox News Channel host Greg Gutfeld had his highest-rated week ever last week, with his late night show Gutfeld! sweeping all of the broadcast late-night hosts, CBS’ Stephen Colbert, NBC’s Jimmy Fallon and ABC’s Jimmel Kimmel. 

For the week ending August 12, Gutfeld! delivered an average total audience of 2.355 million viewers, outpacing The Late Show with Stephen Colbert (2.143 million viewers), The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon (1.318 million viewers), and Jimmy Kimmel Live! (1.084 million viewers).

Gutfeld! also led among younger viewers, dominating among adults 25-54, the key demographic valued by national advertisers. 

The Fox News show delivered an average audience of 397,000 viewers, followed by CBS’ Colbert (373,000 viewers), NBC’s Fallon (372,000 viewers) and ABC’s Kimmel (264,000 viewers).
